Man accused of molesting child in Philmont

From Columbia County Sheriff’s Office:

Michael Ramm, 37, of Castleton, NY, was arrested at 11:00 am on October 11, 2018.

Mr. Ramm has been charged with Forcible touching and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Both class A Misdemeanors.

The Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation after being notified of allegations of suspected sexual offense that occurred in the Village of Philmont. Deputy Sheriff Peter Merante began the investigation and then turned the case over the Sheriff’s Office Special Victims unit.

Mr. Ramm is accused of intentionally touching the intimate parts of another person as well as having asked for and sending nude pictures to a person under the age of 17 years old. The alleged act was reported to have been committed in the Village of Philmont in 2017.

Mr. Ramm was issued appearance tickets for the charges that direct him to appear in the Village of Philmont Court on October 25th, 2018 at 6:00 pm.

The New York State Police, the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office and the Dr. Stephen and Suzanne Menkes Child Advocacy Center assisted with this investigation.
