Catskill Police report, they executed a search warrant Thursday morning at Depot Street, Building 17 in the village.
They arrested 32 year old Richard J. Vernal Jr on charges of:
Criminal possession of a narcotic drug/ with intent to sell
Criminal possession of a weapon
Criminal possession of a controlled substance
and 2nd degree criminal nuisance
Police say they recovered 49 bags of heroin and a 45 caliber handgun.
He was sent to the Greene County Jail on 15,000 dollars bail.

On Thursday, October 25, 2018, three arrests were made based on the execution of a search warrant at 17 Depot Street in the Village of Catskill. Richard Vernal, Jr. of Catskill is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree: Narcotic Drug with Intent to Sell, a Class B Felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, Class A Misdemeanor and Criminal Nuisance in the 2nd Degree, Class B Misdemeanor. Ethan Turner of Catskill is charged with Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 3rd Degree: over 3 ounces, a Class E Felony. Katie Potter of Greenville is charged with a violation of Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. Vernal was remanded to jail on $15,000 cash/$30,000 bond. Turner and Potter were released and are required to return to Court at a later date.
The arrests were on a joint investigation by the Greene County District Attorney’s Office, New York State Police, Greene County Sheriff’s Office and the Catskill Village Police Department.
