On December 21, 2018, Honorable Richard M. Koweek sentenced Thomas Confer to five (5) years probation; ordered him to perform 150 hours of community service and pay $290 in restitution upon his conviction of two (2) Counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree; Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree; and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree. Columbia County Sheriff David P. Bartlett's Office investigated this matter and arrested Thomas Confer. Shane Zoni represents Thomas Confer. (Indictment No. 18-030)

SHERIFF’S OFFICE EXECUTES SEARCH WARRANT TARGETING UPPER LEVEL HEROIN DEALER

Stockport, NY- Columbia County Sheriff David P. Bartlett reports that on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at approximately 10:30pm, a search warrant was executed in the Town of Stockport and four local individuals were arrested.

On July 10, 2018, members of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, the Columbia-Greene Shared Response Team, New York State Police, Stockport Police Department, and New York State Parole executed a search warrant, which was signed by Columbia County Court Judge Jonathan Nichols, at 2870 Atlantic Avenue in the Town of Stockport.

During the execution of this warrant, 150 bags of heroin was located in the residence and seized, which has an approximate street value of $2,300. In addition, a quantity of crack cocaine was also seized.As a result of this investigation, these four individuals were arrested:

Thomas Confer Jr., 35, of 2870 Atlantic Avenue Stockport, was arrested and charged with 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree-intent to sell (Class B Felony), one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree (Class C Felony), and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree (Class D Felony). The defendant was arraigned before Judge Brandon in Claverack Town Court and was remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail/ $40,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Stockport Town Court on July 16, 2018 at 7:00pm.

Meagan Svida, 33, also of 2870 Atlantic Avenue Stockport, was arrested and charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree (Class D Felony) andone count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (Class A Misdemeanor). Ms. Svida was also arraigned before Judge Brandon in Claverack Town Court and was remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail/ $10,000 bond. She will appear in Stockport Town Court on July 16, 2018 at 7:00pm.
