From Saugerties Police:
On December 19, 2018 at 8:43PM, Saugerties Police Department responded to a residence in the Village of Saugerties for a reported home invasion robbery.
The perpetrator, identified as 21-year-old Andrew S. Rodriguez, forced his way into the victim’s home, while displaying a handgun. Rodriguez threatened to shoot the homeowner and the homeowner’s home healthcare aide, if they did not turn over medications. A physical altercation ensued between the victim and Rodriquez.
While the altercation was taking place, the home healthcare aide was able to get to a phone and call 911. A neighbor who also heard the commotion also called 911. Rodriguez fled the residence prior to police arrival, leaving the area in a waiting vehicle that had parked in front of the residence. The Saugerties Police Department has obtained a Warrant of Arrest charging Andrew S Rodriguez with the Felonies of Attempted Burglary in the First Degree and Attempted Robbery in the First Degree.
Anyone who may know the whereabouts of Andrew S. Rodriguez is asked to call the Saugerties Police Department (845) 246-9800. All calls will be kept confidential. Rodriguez is considered armed and dangerous and if seen, police should be notified immediately by calling 911.
Rodriguez is 5’9”, weighs approximately 180lbs., black hair and Brown eyes.
