House Fire
A police officer from Oklahoma is being hailed as a hero after saving his entire family from a house fire. Officer Anthony Louie of the Seminole Police Department was called to the fire early Friday (November 13) morning and realized it was his own home.
Louie didn't wait for the fire department to arrive and rushed into the burning house. He ran through his "flame engulfed porch" and managed to rescue his family from the fire. Thanks to his bravery and quick-thinking, his family was unharmed, though he suffered serious burns and smoke inhalation.
"Officer Louie made entry into the residence and successfully rescued his family," the Seminole Fraternal Order of Police wrote on their Facebook page. "Upon entering the residence, he had to run through the flame engulfed porch and, in doing so, sustained serious burns and smoke inhalation injuries. Officer Louie's family was not physically injured due to his bravery and quick action."
After news of Louie's bravery spread, many people began donating money, clothing, and other household items to help his family.
"Many citizens have been leaning donations in the form of money and clothing/household items at the Seminole PD as well. There is always someone there to accept these donations," they wrote.
"Above all, please keep Corporal Louie and his family in your prayers."
