I don't think I can ever remember a music star whose music is so moving or beautifully dramatic that in can carry a feature film of him/her simply performing it for an audience in a barn. But then there's Bruce Springsteen, who will be doing just that in his new movie Western Stars, from Warner Bros. Pictures.
You'll see in the trailer above, The Boss is performing his entire Western Stars album in front of a small audience in a 100-year-old barn that he owns. He's accompanied by a large string section, and some of the musicians who are also to the recent recording.
The flick was co-directed by Springsteen and his frequent collaborator Thom Zimny. It will world premiere at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival next month, and be in theaters for the rest of us in October.
