A HOME IN LEEDS WAS DESTROYED BY FIRE

LAST NIGHT. FOUR GREENE COUNTY FIRE

COMPANIES RESPONDED TO 684 SANDY PLAINS

ROAD JUST BEFORE 8:30. NO WORD THIS

MORNING ON ANY INJURIES. THE CAUSE IS

UNDER INVESTIGATION.

A SECOND FIRE, EARLY THIS MORNING

DESTROYED CATSKILL TRANSMISSIONS AT

264 JEFFERSON HEIGHTS IN CATSKILL. THE

BUILDING WAS FULLY INVOLVED WHEN

FIREMEN ARRIVED JUST AFTER 2. THE TEMPERATURE

WAS WELL BELOW ZERO WHEN THE FIRE BROKE OUT.

TWO HUDSON RESIDENTS, WHO WERE INDICTED

LAST DECEMBER ON FELONY DRUG CHARGES,

WERE BACK IN COLUMBIA COUNTY COURT

FRIDAY. THE COLUMBIA COUNTY D.A.'S

OFFICE SAYS MICHAEL ELIE AND PATRICIA

LORD WERE ARRAIGNED ON NEW CHARGES.

NO TRIAL DATE HAS BEEN SET YET.

A POUGHKEEPSIE MAN FACES CHARGES,

AFTER AN INCIDENT THAT BEGAN THURSDAY

AFTERNOON IN KINDERHOOK. STATE POLICE

REPORTED THAT THEY WERE LOOKING FOR A

BLACK JEEP, THAT CONTAINED TWO FEMALE

YOUTHS, FROM BERKSHIRE FARMS KINDERHOOK

LOCATION ON ROUTE 203. 20 YEAR OLD

TYRICK ANGOL WAS LOCATED AND CHARGED

WITH CHILD ENDANGERMENT.

PART OF ROUTE 23 IN WINDHAM WAS CLOSED

FRIDAY FOR A PROPANE LEAK. WINDHAM

FIRE, AND THE GREENE COUNTY HAZ-MAT

TEAM WERE ON THE SCENE FOR SEVERAL

HOURS, IN THE AREA OF THE POST OFFICE.

A COLUMBIA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPUTY, ASSIGNED

TO COLUMBIA GREENE COMMUNITY COLLEGE, WAS

HONORED FRIDAY FOR HIS LIFE SAVING ACTIONS,

DURING A MEDICAL EMERGENCY AT THE COLLEGE

LAST FALL. DEPUTY PATRICK MAYO HAS BEEN

WITH THE DEPARTMENT FOR 6 YEARS.

AREA POLICE ARE EXPECTED TO BE OUT IN

FORCE THIS WEEKEND FOR THE SUPER BOWL.

STATE POLICE WILL BE JOINED BY LOCAL

AND COUNTY POLICE FOR THE ANNUAL STOP

DWI CAMPAIGN, THAT BEGINS TODAY AND RUNS

THROUGH 4AM MONDAY.
