AN ATHENS MAN IS BEING HELD ON FELONY

SEX CHARGES. STATE POLICE REPORT, THE

INCIDENT WAS REPORTED JANUARY 23RD. IN

THE VILLAGE. 32 YEAR OLD MATTHEW MAURER

WAS CHARGED WITH SEXUAL ABUSE, WITH A

VICTIM UNDER 13, AND ACTING IN A MANNER

TO INJURE A CHILD.

14 GOATS WERE KILLED SATURDAY MORNING,

WHEN FIRE BROKE OUT AT A BARN IN WEST GHENT.

OVER HALF A DOZEN FIRE COMPANIES RESPONDED

TO A HOME ON ROUTE 66 JUST AFTER 7. THE

FIRE IS BELIEVED TO HAVE STARTED FROM A

HEAT LAMP.

THE RED CROSS ANNOUNCED SATURDAY, THAT THEY

ARE ASSISTING A FAMILY OF FIVE, WHO LOST THEIR

HOME TO FIRE FRIDAY NIGHT IN LEEDS. THE

FULLY INVOLVED BLAZE DESTROYED THE HOME ON

SANDY PLAINS ROAD.

ONCE AGAIN, A CAR HAS CRASHED INTO THE

SIGN, AT THE ENTRANCE TO COLUMBIA GREENE

COMMUNITY COLLEGE. THE CAR ROLLED OVER

IN THE ACCIDENT SATURDAY AFTERNOON. THE DRIVER

WAS NOT INJURED. THE COLLEGE'S ENTRANCE

SIGNS HAVE BEEN STRUCK SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE.

OTHER ACCIDENTS OVER THE WEEKEND THAT

BROUGHT AN EMERGENCY RESPONSE, WERE ON ROUTE

22 IN AUSTERLITZ, SUMMERSET ROAD IN

STUYVESANT, BROAD STREET IN KINDERHOOK, CAIRO

JUNCTION ROAD IN LEEDS, AND ROUTE 26 IN

NEW BALTIMORE.

A CATSKILL MAN HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH FELONY

BAIL JUMPING. 40 YEAR OLD JERIME FRELIGH

WAS ARRESTED ON A WARRANT BY STATE POLICE

ON ROUTE 23. HE WAS HELD AFTER BEING CHARGED.

SAUGERTIES POLICE SAY, A LEEDS MAN PRETENDED

THAT HE WAS HIS BROTHER, AFTER A TRAFFIC STOP

SUNDAY. 29 YEAR OLD PETER MALLOY WAS CHARGED

WITH CRIMINAL IMPERSONATION, DRIVING WITHOUT

A LICENSE, AND NUMEROUS VEHICLE AND TRAFFIC

CHARGES.
