MULTIPLE POLICE AGENCIES RESPONDED TO

THE 500 BLOCK OF STATE STREET IN HUDSON

TUESDAY, AFTER SHOTS RANG OUT. IT HAPPENED

JUST BEFORE NOON. HUDSON POLICE SAY, THERE

WERE NO INJURIES. ONE MAN WAS BROUGHT IN

FOR QUESTIONING. WE HOPE TO LEARN MORE

TODAY.

STILL NO VERDICT IN THE MOHAMMED

MORSHED MURDER TRIAL, IN COLUMBIA

COUNTY COURT. JURORS HAVE BEEN

DELIBERATING SINCE MONDAY AFTERNOON.

THEY WILL CONTINUE THIS MORNING.

THE 28 YEAR OLD HUDSON MAN IS FACING

SECOND DEGREE MURDER CHARGES.

A NEW LEBANON MAN WAS ARRAIGNED IN

COLUMBIA COUNTY COURT, ON 12 COUNTS,

INVOLVING SEX CRIMES. 52 YEAR OLD DANIEL

BEMISS WAS ARRESTED BY STATE POLICE AND

CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE COUNTS OF CRIMINAL

SEX ACT AND SEXUAL ABUSE. A TRIAL DATE

IS SCHEDULED FOR NEXT APRIL.

THE COLUMBIA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

IDENTIFIED THE MAN WHO WAS KILLED

IN A CAR FIRE FRIDAY IN COPAKE.

AN AUTOPSY WAS CONDUCTED ON THE BODY

OF 32 YEAR OLD RUDY MARTINEZ OF

COPAKE. THE CAUSE OF DEATH WAS

LISTED AS INHALATION OF FIRE GASES.

FIRE TORE THROUGH A MOBILE HOME IN

NEW BALTIMORE YESTERDAY EVENING. THE

CALL CAME IN JUST AFTER 6:30 ON

ROUTE 9W NEAR COUNTY ROUTE 51. THE

CALLER REPORTED SHE HEARD AN EXPLOSION

FROM NEARBY TRAILER. NO WORD ON ANY

INJURIES.

STATE FOREST RANGERS ASSISTED THE

FAMILY OF AN 11 YEAR OLD BOY, WHO

INJURED HIS LEG, WHILE SWIMMING AT

KAATERSKILL FALLS. THEY PROVIDED FIRST

AND AND WERE ABLE TO GET THE BOY AND

FAMILY BACK TO THEIR CAR.

THE COLUMBIA COUNTY CHAMBER SAYS

THERE ARE STILL TICKETS AVAILABLE
