FIRE DESTROYED A LEEDS HOME EARLY

THURSDAY MORNING. OVER HALF A DOZEN

COMPANIES WERE INVOLVED IN FIGHTING

THE BLAZE AT 348 CAIRO JUNCTION

ROAD. LEEDS FIRE OFFICIALS SAY, A

PROPANE LEAK ON A GAS APPLIANCE

CAUSED THE EXPLOSION AND FIRE. THE

HOMEOWNER WAS TREATED FOR BURNS,

BUT SHE WAS ABLE TO GET OUT OF

THE HOUSE.

SCARY MOMENTS YESTERDAY MORNING

IN LIVINGSTON, WHERE A CAR ENDED UP

ON IT'S SIDE, STRIKING A HOUSE.

THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED JUST AFTER

8:30 ON ROUTE 9, SOUTH OF COUNTY

ROUTE 31. ONE PERSON WAS TAKEN TO

NORTHERN DUTCHESS HOSPITAL.

OTHER ACCIDENTS THURSDAY, THAT

BROUGHT AN EMERGENCY RESPONSE, WERE

AT THE CANAAN TOLL PLAZA ON THE

BERKSHIRE SPUR, WEST BRIDGE STREET

IN CATSKILL, AND ROUTE 32 IN CAIRO.

A CATSKILL TEEN FACES ASSAULT

CHARGES, AFTER AN ALTERCATION IN

THE VILLAGE. THE 17 YEAR OLD WAS

BROUGHT TO THE CATSKILL POLICE STATION

TO BE CHARGED. HE WAS GIVEN

APPEARANCE TICKETS FOR COURT.

MONEY IS ON THE WAY TO THREE LOCAL

COMMUNITIES, TO HELP STOP LOCALIZED

FLOODING AND IMPROVE WATER QUALITY.

AUSTERLITZ, GHENT, AND NEW BALTIMORE
